First, there was Friends, and now there's Adults, FX and Hulu's latest ensemble comedy series. The show follows a group of friends in their twenties who live in New York and are trying to be "good people" even though they haven't really graduated to full-blown adulthood yet.
Similar to how Friends comforted millennials across the country after it first debuted in 1994, Adults has the potential to become Gen Z's go-to sitcom. Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw, who are currently writers for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, created the series, which "puts a slightly heightened twist on the wins, losses, and humiliations of starting out in the adult world."

What is 'Adults' about?

The group of five twenty-something friends includes Samir, Billie, Paul Baker, Issa, and Anton, who are all living at Samir's childhood home as they try to figure out life and all its complexities in tandem.
"Whether they're trying to get ahead at work, navigating the healthcare system, hosting a dinner party, or dating in the age of Find My Friends, the group is finding that nothing about the real world is simple, and all their best intentions tend to make things worse," FX wrote of Adults.
"These friends are works-in-progress, brimming with bad ideas and whatever their latest 'theory of adulthood' might be. But there's one thing they consistently get right: showing up for each other."

Samir is played by Mailk Elassal, who is most known for his performance in Resident Alien. His character's empty-nester parents go away on an RV trip, which is why he's able to host all of his friends at his childhood home. And amidst the chaos, he can't figure out how to fix anything in his life, from his unemployment to the house's boiler.
Samir's childhood best friend, Billie, is portrayed by Lucy Freyer, and she actually has her life somewhat together, even though she's afraid that she might've "peaked too soon." Meanwhile, Issa, played by Amita Rao, toes the line between tame and wild, hoping "to prove that you can be both a serious person and know who to flash to get into a rave."
The final two friends, Anton and Paul Baker, are played by Owen Thiele and Jack Innanen, respectively. Anton is a social butterfly who can form friendships with anyone, but he struggles with boundaries. Paul Baker, on the other hand, is the group's newest addition, who relocated to New York City from Canada.
Executive producers on the show include Ben Kronengold, Rebecca Shaw, Nick Kroll, Stefani Robinson, Sarah Naftalis, Jonathan Krisel, and Alicia Van Couvering.
When does 'Adults' come out?

The first two episodes of Adults debut on FX on May 28, airing at 9:00 p.m. EST. Then, the entire first season, which includes eight episodes, will hit Hulu on May 29.
